Happy New Year friends! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones! It’s hard to believe that it’s officially 2018!!
With the new year comes fresh goals and new perspectives. I honestly don’t like setting resolutions, but am more likely to make lifestyle changes that are sustainable throughout the year. It’s all about improving my quality of living while making a positive impact on my surroundings.
I thought I would share my focuses for this year and hope to inspire you along the way!
New Year Goals
Unplug and Be Present
Anyone that knows me is aware that I spend way too much time on my phone/laptop/iPad. To the extent that I don’t realize how much time I waste when I get drawn into the bubble. So the plan is to put the phone down and and enjoy the moments, especially when spending time with others.
Fortunately, James and I already are on a fairly healthy eating schedule. But recently, there has been a lot of food waste in our home. The thought of throwing food away makes me cringe, and I truly want to minimize it as much as possible. Our game plan for this is more meal planning with a carefully thought out shopping list, and no more grocery shopping without finishing the previous week’s food!
In the next few months, we have a big move coming (TO BIRMINGHAM,AL; more on that later.) So my goal is to be more conscious about my spending and to build better habits in regards to money in general. Something that I am seriously lacking right now.
I’m happy to report that physically, I’m probably the healthiest I’ve been in my entire life. But I do want to focus more on my mental health. A few things that I have been implementing into my day-to-day is more meditation, removing toxic thoughts, and staying away from negative people. Essentially, I want to start and end each day on a positive note!
This online space has grown more that I could ever imagine and it’s finally time to learn more and grow. I never researched too much on blogging strategies and setting blog goals, but I feel that now is finally the time. To start, I’m putting more effort into Instagram Stories and video content, because that will push boundaries that I’ve never been near.
