It’s time! The weather is cooling down which means fall is right around the corner. Here in BHAM, it’s still hot, sunny summer days, but the mornings and nights have a lovely fall feeling to them. This awkward time has me craving fall textures and patterns while still wanting airy summer dresses. This blush gingham dress is the best of both worlds when it comes to summer/fall confusion. It’s a light-weight fabric, but still has that plaid patterning that reminds us of fall.

Plaid is the way to go when you’re confused about what to wear during this transitional period. You can layer with it, fit it in skirt form, dress form, and lightweight shirt form. I can’t think of a pattern that is more fall! I’m rounding out some plaid options below that are still great for the hot summer days and will take you into the cooler fall ones.

What I love most about this blush gingham dress is how it pairs well with sandals and booties. It can also be unbuttoned and worn as a cardigan layer over denim and a tank. I can even imagine tieing it up and wearing it as a top! There are numerous outfit combinations that can come out of it if you use some creativity. Initially, I thought that it would be a single-use summer dress, but it definitely is not that; I would never get it if it wasn’t versatile!
