Here are some easy ways to add smoke or a smokey effect to your next cocktails:
- The easiest was is with some dry ice in your drink. It also chills your drink without diluting it so that’s another plus! The vaporization process creates the perfect smoking effect without adding a smokey flavor. Just be careful when you’re handling the dry ice!
- Another easy smokey accent can be attained by burning herbs before adding them to your drink. We love gently burning sage and rosemary for the aroma and smoky-ness.
- For a theatrical effect, we love igniting the oils of an orange peel before adding it to the cocktail.
- If you don’t want to play with fire, try making cocktails with mezcal or a peaty whiskey.
