I have survived the icepocalypse! Over the past few days my town has been bombarded by mother nature. Early Wednesday morning, Georgia was hit by an ice storm that crippled the entire city. Hundreds of thousands of people, myself included, were left without electricity for hours and hours(some still don’t have power). Along with the lack of electricity, there was damage caused by fallen trees and power lines. My street looked like a war zone. The ice uprooted trees that were over a foot thick and the tree limbs and live wires added to the already hazardous conditions. Fortunately, thousands of engineers arrived from all over the south to remedy the situation. I’m so grateful for all of the assistance my city received!
One would think an ice storm that darkened a city for days is enough punishment but no…on Valentine’s Day we had an earthquake! It’s almost comical how close the two events were. The earthquake was a 4.1 on the Richter Scale and cause no damage or injuries, thankfully!
This outfit is from the calm rain before the ice storm. I pretty much lived in my boots this week, they are a worthy investment for anyone searching for rain boots!
I’ve heard the north was also hit pretty badly by the storm. I hope everyone is safe and warm!!
