I was in the process of stowing my winter clothing away when I came across this skirt. It was purchased for New Years Eve and had only been worn once. The sequin trend was everywhere this past fall/winter season, so I thought to extend the wear of my skirt and make it spring appropriate. I did so by wearing a spring color, lilac, and a pair sandals!
Some more tips on styling sequins in the spring…
  1. Be minimalistic. The sequins are making a statement all by themselves, the last thing you want is to look like you’re dressed for Halloween. Try mixing a sequined piece with a separate that has no embellishments.
  2. Go neutral. Sequins really pop on sheer colors so stick with blush tones, whites or beige shades.
  3. Accessories. If a sequined top or skirt seems like too much sparkle, adorn your look with an intricate sequined clutch, belt or even a pair of shoes.
  4. Patterns are friends. Its very likely that your sequined piece is solid in color so adding in some stripes or some chevron will help elevate an otherwise simple look.
