How to Wear White in the Fall

The first day of fall may have passed, but white will forever be my color crush. I can honestly say that this white eyelet midi skirt is one of my most favorite pieces in my closet. And it pairs so well with a classic tee, my favorite is from Banana Republic. There is something so timeless and feminine about the length, color and texture. And yes, I will wear it to death until it gets too cold outside; it’s just too flattering to put away. Below I have a few tips on how to wear white in the fall.

Typically, I like sticking to a classic color scheme, which is why I went for grey shades with the white. I couldn’t help but add the forest green clutch to give this whole look a fall flair.

White Midi Skirts

Since the colors were very neutral, a smokey eye was a must. I’m also not one to wear much makeup, so the darker eyeshadow complemented the otherwise light look. 

Along with the forest green color, adding suede shoes brought this white out look into fall territory. It’s always the little details that make an ordinary outfit different. 

A few tips on how to wear white in the fall:

Stay monochromatic. If you’re already wearing one white piece, why not go all white. Some of my favorite fall and white outfits are completely white out with a tan coat or shoes, it just looks so pure and clean.

Textures textures textures! Whether its suede, fur, cashmere or a chunky cable knit sweater, fall textures will transition any look into autumn.

Colorful plaid or flannel. The contrast of crisp white pants under a colorful flannel top just pops! I feel like white makes everything more vibrant and pigmented, so the multi-colored plaid will really stand out.

Try ivory. If white might seem too overpowering, try sticking to cream and ivory colors. It will create a similar look that isn’t as jarring. Creams are classics that can we worn year-round.
