For years, I’ve had thin and fine hair that didn’t have much volume or depth. My solution was to purchase clip-in hair extensions to easily oomph up the thickness. Well, to my surprise, finding hair extensions that match your hair shade perfectly is pretty tricky.
So there I was with some pretty hair extensions that were 100% noticeable when I wore them. The hair was too dark and not warm enough. In comes Schwarzkopf® to save the day. I was browsing the aisles of Walmart and noticed the Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color in 5.7 Chestnut Brown. I thought it would be perfect to lighten and warm up my hair extensions.

The more I looked at Schwarzkopf®, the more I liked what I was seeing. They had a simple at-home hair coloring system with optional additives to make your coloring process even easier. The Schwarzkopf® Color Equalizer Spray and Schwarzkopf® Salonplex Add-in Serum pair perfectly with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color to strengthen your hair during the coloring process.

This process works on hair extensions and on normal hair as well. Here’s how I did it:
Start by spraying Schwarzkopf® Color Equalizer Spray into your dry hair and let it dry. The spray optimizes gloss and improves compatibility of hair which leads to even coloring throughout — no more splotchy hair color.

After your equalized hair dries, refer to the instructions to prepare your hair color. I prepped my hair with the pre-treatment product that was in the Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color box. Then I added the Color Cream into the Developer Lotion.

Then I added the Schwarzkopf® Salonplex Add-in Serum to the bottle. The serum helps to reinforce hair and protects inner hair structure, strength, and elasticity. After the products were combined, I shook the bottle thoroughly.

I used the Applicator Bottle to saturate the hair extensions with the color. Make sure you’re wearing gloves when you do this! I then let the color process for 45 minutes. Each hair color will have more specific instructions for this process.

After 45 minutes, rinse and lather the hair with warm water. Keep rinsing until the water runs clear. Then apply the Keratin Conditioner to your washed hair for 2 minutes and rinse again. Let the hair dry and it’s ready to use!
I was amazed after I put the colored extensions in my hair! I couldn’t tell the difference between my hair and the extensions. There was depth in the color and it looked anything but flat! You can also save with Schwarzkopf® products here!
