There are so many distinct flavors that are reminiscent of the holidays. Cranberry and rosemary are two that definitely come to mind when I think about Christmas. So I thought, why not combine the two and create a cocktail! My cranberry cocktail recipe with bourbon has hints of rosemary and is SO easy to make. The vibrant red color is also perfect for your upcoming holiday party! Don’t you just love when your drink matches your outfit!! 😀

The recipe itself is just a cranberry-rosemary simple syrup, bourbon, orange juice, and seltzer (or prosecco if you’re feeling fancy!) We used sugared cranberries and fresh rosemary as a garnish. I’ve actually been adding the cranberry-rosemary simple syrup to plain seltzer for a quick mocktail on a daily basis!
The cranberry-rosemary syrup is pretty much granulated sugar, brown sugar, cranberries and rosemary. I just let the concoction simmer until the cranberries pop and release some color. Our kitchen smells like Christmas when the cranberries are simmering. YUM!

I highly recommend making sugared cranberries for the garnish. I used this tutorial, but essentially you just soak cranberries in a hot simple syrup for 10 minutes and then coat the sticky cranberries in cane sugar. They taste SO good and make a beautiful garnish! They would look amazing on a simple white cake or can even make a great hostess gift.
